With 2019 behind us, those of us at Phenixx Gaming decided it would be a great idea to shine a spotlight on a few upcoming games that you may have forgotten about. Alternately, if you haven’t forgotten about them, this series will bring you up to speed on the latest developments about said releases. Today’s entry regards Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore which releases on Nintendo Switch in January.

Originally announced for the Wii U back in 2013 as “Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem” Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE quickly became a highly rated Wii U title when it released in 2016. In fact, it was one of the most popular Wii U games before the console was discontinued and the Nintendo Switch was released. Since then, fans of both the Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei franchises have been clamoring for a port on Nintendo Switch.

Luckily, fans have finally received confirmation of this exact thing. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will release on January 17^th, 2020 and will have all sorts of new content. The new content consists of new songs, musical numbers, story content, and even party members. This means that those of us, who missed out on the Wii U version, are going to get to play the game in an even more packed format when it releases in January.

The best thing about this though is that Nintendo Switch users will be able to take this RPG on the go! So, not only will you be able to get the best of both worlds (Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei) you’ll be able to enjoy it at home or on the road! It also serves to hold people over until we see what Shin Megami Tensei V has in store, whenever it decides to release.
