At this point, I don’t believe there are many series of the gaming world that I haven’t penetrated. However, Borderlands is just that, while I’m forever complaining about the grey and brown slumps we got into during the PS3-era, I’ve never been into this colorful one. I guess it’s because Borderlands as a series is “a game to be played with your buds!” Given I hiss like an angry cat at anyone within 10 feet of me, I don’t believe I’m the target audience for a game entirely about interacting with humans to distract from the colorful set-pieces.

Nevertheless, the first Borderlands 3 campaign DLC has been announced and in the series tradition of hunting vaults, you’re on another heist. This time, in particular, Moxxi’s heist of the Handsome Jackpot. Set in a casino, you’re most likely going to be shooting your way through hundreds of colorful robots, collect a bit more loot, and probably ruin some cleaning lady’s day off with all your destruction. Framed as a casino heist, I could see this one going down about as well as all those times I’ve played multiplayer games, heard a racial slur, and turned it back off.

First revealed during “The Borderlands Show,” Greg Miller and Fran Mirabella of Kinda Funny were joined by Gearbox head, Randy Pitchford, to announced the DLC. Revealing the DLC to be coming in less than a month, you’ll be able to slaughter hundreds of robots across the Handsome Jackpot on December 19th. However, today there is also the latest free DLC challenge: Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite.

Though if you’ve yet to pick up Borderlands 3, this weekend there is a free weekend on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This will last until the 24th, when you can pick up the game if you’re enjoying it, and the progress you’ve already made will continue if you pick it up.
