At long last Atlus finally gave us a trailer for Persona 5 S and it’s not a Nintendo Switch port of the critically acclaimed JRPG. Persona 5 S or it’s proper title, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, is a is a Musō game staring the Persona 5 cast and is being developed by Omega Force, the developers of the long-running Dynasty Warriors franchise.

Dynasty Warriors is a highly popular franchise in Japan and has obtained cult status in the west for its large-scale battles and making the player feel like an, overpowered and unstoppable, one-man army. The Dynasty Warriors games have influenced other franchises Like The Legend of Zelda with Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem with Fire Emblem Warriors. So it’s a safe assumption to make that Persona 5 Scramble will be along with the same gameplay elements with the acid jazz soundtrack and oozing style that made Persona 5 excellent.

In the reveal trailer, we see Joker crouching on top of a light post being surrounded by shadows and fighting some iconic enemies like Jack Frost and Pixie in areas like Shibuya and other parts of Tokyo. It also looks like summoning personas will also be a gameplay element, as Joker is using magic attacks with his Persona Arsene. Not much else was shown off, but the trailer ended with a little girl looking at Joker which would imply a new a story, at least.

Persona 5 not being brought over to the Switch isn’t a huge surprise, as all the mainline entries have been exclusive to PlayStation, with the spin-offs being made for the Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS. Persona 5 Scramble is making it’s way over to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, however, no release window or date has been given at the time of writing. This week has been great for Persona 5 fans, with Scramble and Persona 5 The Royal both announced within a few days of each other.
