FromSoftware fans are getting fed very well lately. Between the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal of The Duskbloods and today’s announcement, a lot is going on. With Elden Ring Nightreign swiftly on its way, we’ve gotten even more exciting news, this time with a new trailer.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s team at FromSoftware and Bandai Namco has released a trailer for a new character that will be playable, known as The Duchess. This character will likely be for the quick and mobile players, since she uses a rapier and focuses on precision. Here is what the press release says about The Duchess.

“A blade, unrelenting and unseen, hidden in the night. The Duchess’ foes are vanquished in the flick of a second hand, their fate unraveled in its echo. Watch the latest Nightfarer character trailer for the Duchess- perfect for players who value deadly precision and exact timing in ELDEN RING™ NIGHTREIGN. Starting with a rapier, the Duchess offers mobility and evasiveness, but with her Restage ability, she can turn the tables on foes by replaying recent actions.”

The trailer offers a flashy bit of footage showcasing how The Duchess takes out her foes. The character seems like a very assassin-esque, stealth-action character that would be translated in FromSoft terms as a “Dex-Build.” Regardless, she is kinda cool and I am intrigued.

If you are somehow unaware, this is what the press release says about Nightreign as a whole: “Developed by FromSoftware, Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN brings co-op survival action set in the Elden Ring universe to players on May 30 on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam®.”

We don’t have long to wait for Nightreign to arrive, and despite not being a substantial multiplayer guy, this is one that I’m excited to play around with. I enjoyed Elden Ring (I should go back for another round) so this is another taste of a formula I have really enjoyed already.
