Last year, Aggro Crab’s Another Crab’s Treasure captured the hearts of a lot of people. Specifically, the game took the interest of Souls-like fans or players who wanted to dip their toes into the genre without a game that felt so dark and gloomy. Now, this colorful Souls-like is celebrating its first anniversary with a few new add-ons.

Aggro Crab is releasing the “Year of the Crab Update” for free on April 21st. The update will come first to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch release soon after. According to the press release, the free update will feature: “A new game plus mode, new upgrades and unlocks, new costumes for Kril, a boss rush mode, and brand new achievements/trophies!

Caelan Pollock, Writer & Creative Director at Aggro Crab, commented on this free update, stating: New Game Plus is by FAR the most requested from the community ever since we launched Another Crab’s Treasure, and the response to the game has been so overwhelming that we thought we might as well!

We could have lazily scaled up enemy stats and called it a day, but we’re built different, so we added new moves to bosses, some new items, and oh yeah, remixed almost every enemy encounter in the game. Hope you all enjoy, and thank you SO SO much for all the support on this game! We’re excited to show you what’s next as soon as it’s ready! It won’t be long now…

Physical editions will also be coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch soon. Aggro Crab and iam8bit will have more details about that at a later date.

As of writing this article, Another Crab’s Treasure has over 13,000 reviews on Steam, and 94% of them are positive. With this “Very Positive” rating on Steam, there is a lot to enjoy here. Last year, it even won a Golden Joystick award for Best Self-Published Indie Game. If you like a good, tough action game, this might be something to check out or add to your Summer Sale purchasing list.
