Within The Cosmos Release Date Revealed

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the upcoming first-person, single-player RPG, Within the Cosmos. I was intrigued due to the Deus Ex vibes dripping from it, and I wasn’t the only one. Now, Indie developer debdev has given the release date for Within the Cosmos.

In an announcement over the weekend, debdev revealed that Within the Cosmos will be released tomorrow, March 28^th, 2025. The announcement came alongside a new trailer, revealing more about Within the Cosmos. Here is what the press release says about the game:

“Set in the year 2278, Within the Cosmos invites players to awaken in a distant star system after centuries in cryogenic sleep. With humanity on the verge of collapse, players find themselves in a world divided by factions and a looming android threat. As one of 500 survivors from the United Earth Space Agency (UESA), players must navigate complex choices and alliances to uncover the truth and influence the future of a fragile society.”

Within the Cosmos will be released only on PC (at least for now). Debdev has worked on Within the Cosmos for 9 years, and due to the lengthy dev time, I would think that ports might take a while unless they get some sort of help.

Regardless, there is a lot to explore in Within the Cosmos. There are multiple planets, as well as multiple factions to either join or fight against. There is customization not only of your character but also your weapons, as well as hacking mechanics and mods to enhance your abilities.

I’m curious to see how Within the Cosmos fares on release. Of course, with the game being released tomorrow, we won’t have to wait long to find out. I’m sure debdev is excited to see the fruits of these past 9 years, and we wish them a successful launch.
