Alexx AplinI have had my eye on Ruffy and the Riverside for a while now. The demo caught my attention during the Steam Next Fest, and while I didn’t get as much time with it as I wanted, it was definitely satisfying. Now, there has been a minor delay, but we finally have a full release date for the highly anticipated platformer.
German studio Zockrates Laboratories, and US publisher Phiphen Games have moved Ruffy and the Riverside’s launch from Q1 2025 to a June launch date. Specifically, Ruffy and the Riverside will be released on June 26th, 2025 for PC and all major console platforms. Here is what the press release says about this announcement:
“Originally scheduled for a Q1 release, using Ruffy’s magical SWAP, the release date was changed to 26 June 2025 to ensure a simultaneous release on all platforms and to make this the best possible game it can be, which critics are already calling ‘one of the best platformers of 2025!’“

Just for fun, let’s add another quote (our own) to the list. “Ruffy and the Riverside is easily one of the most exciting Indie releases for the year.” I personally have added it to my most-anticipated games for 2025. Here’s hoping that it lives up to the hype once that June release date hits.
