While I have a few pairs of GUNNAR glasses that I wear while gaming, I was seeking something that was a bit fitter for work without sacrificing the signature style or quality of the GUNNAR line. The new GUNNAR Dume blue light glasses are a great option and are heavily inspired by Robert Downey Jr.’s signature look in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Here’s my review of a new option from GUNNAR’s ever-expanding lineup.
As with many of the GUNNAR blue light glasses, the Dume model features a lightweight, comfortable build and prioritize style without sacrificing utility. As someone who exclusively works and games with blue light glasses on now, a big thing for me is always whether or not the glasses feel like something I’d be willing to leave on if I were speaking with someone. Sometimes, designs leave you feeling a bit embarrassed to have blue light glasses on, but with the GUNNAR Dume blue light glasses, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Offered both in an amber tint and a sun tint, the gold accents on the Dume glasses are sleek. With multi-barrel hinges, they’re also comfortable and fit naturally on your face right out of the box. As someone with a larger head, I did have to do some slight adjusting, but the bridge is easy to customize to your face’s needs. The GUNNAR quality is so strong at this point that as you adjust the glasses to your face shape, you do not have to worry about things breaking or falling off.
As I shared in my more gaming-focused GUNNAR Overwatch gaming glasses review, time spent wearing the Dume model makes me appreciate how much light these glasses filter out. It’s almost like there’s no going back because when I’m working without them on, my eyes strain, and I just feel worse. With the style of the Dume model, as well as the light filtering GUNNAR has mastered at this point, I finally have my dailywear blue light glasses.
