Newest Final Fantasy XIV Patch Launches Soon

As a casual player of Final Fantasy XIV, I’m always interested in the new content coming to the game. This past week, Square Enix unveiled the latest patch coming to Dawntrail the latest expansion. Patch 7.2 will be going live very soon, on March 25th. Additional content will also be included in Patch 7.21 and 7.25, which will be released on April 22nd and May 27th, respectively.

Players can expect a batch of new main scenario quests called The Seekers of Eternity which will further progress the story of Dawntrail. Alongside this will be new weapon enhancement quests, and allied society quests. However, by far the most noteworthy feature is an exciting new dungeon called the Underkeep. This location is described as follows, “In the waning days of the old kingdom, the people of Alexandria sought a way to survive as their home sank into the earth below. They built a towering structure that enveloped the royal castle itself, and as the moons came and went, Everkeep grew to soaring heights. Yet some say that the castle has withstood the ravages of time, and stands even now in the city’s foundation as a symbol of bygone glory.” Additionally, there will be a new raid taking place in the Arcadion: Cruiserweight Division which will offer savage difficulty mode starting April 1st.

Finally, two new trials will be offered in this patch. The first is called Recollection while the second is an unreal difficulty trial set within Hell’s Kier where players will face off against Suzaku, the flame lord at level 100.

In terms of content coming further down the line, patch 7.21 will add cosmic exploration to the game. This side-quest activity will allow players to explore uncharted planets, find new items, and craft exclusive materials for weapon enhancements. This is certainly an exciting feature for those who enjoy grinding for resources and maximizing customization options.

Patch 7.25 will add another new side narrative in the form of the Occult Crescent. Taking place on a mysterious island, this area will offer new enemies to fight and locations to explore. All in all, these are some great updates for a thriving MMO.
