Demon Tides Steam Next Fest Demo Out Now

On my binge of demo downloading for the first Steam Next Fest of 2025, my most anticipated title was Demon Tides. Across all the #screenshotsaturdays on X, I get on my feed, this platformer majorly stands out thanks to its fluid movement and proven track record in the stellar Demon Turf. There’s been much hype on that social media platform, with creator Fabraz popping into Twitch streams and remarking about how players are interacting with the title, which careened to #2 on the 3D Platformer demo list at the time of writing. Let’s see what all the fuss is about in this Next Fest demo!

The platforming within Demon Tides is so much more than just running and jumping. Beebz can maneuver in a multitude of ways, utilizing moves like spinning mid-air, diving at high speed, starting new combos, and much more. The platforming is hard to convey without seeing in motion. Snake form returns, as well, letting you zip across the world at frenetic speeds, and the checkpoint system still comes in clutch. That is, once you manage to remind yourself of it frequently enough. The learning curve is fairly quick and once you know how to get Beebz around, it’s a blast.

Demon Tides is a big graphical leap from the hand-drawn art style of Demon Turf, but it most certainly has retained its personality. With several returning characters and an ongoing story from Turf, it’s going to be essential playing for fans of the original. With the demo lasting about an hour in length, this can be expanded for those who want to show off their runs. The voice actor for Demon Tides, Jon Cartwright did this as a compelling way to promote the game for Next Fest. With the game set to come out in 2025, this is a great way to get your hands on the fantastic movement within Demon Tides.
