Alexx AplinAs far as Souls-likes go, I didn’t have the best experience with Lies of P. However, I have been interested to see what the developers at ROUND8 Studio and NEOWIZ do with the upcoming DLC and beyond. Now, we’ve gotten a story trailer, showcasing what is coming to Lies of P in the Overture DLC.
Slated to release this summer, the Overture DLC is a prequel chapter of sorts, with a bit of a timey-wimey twist. Gepetto’s puppet will meet someone from their past and experience Krat before its fall. Here’s what the press release has to say about the Overture DLC:
“Travel back in time to meet Lea and embark on an unforgettable adventure in the latest trailer for Lies of P: Overture. At IGN Fan Fest, fans got their first look at the story for the upcoming DLC expansion featuring Geppetto’s Puppet and the Legendary Stalker Lea.
This prequel chapter, scheduled to be released in Summer 2025, returns players to the City of Krat in its final days of grandeur, revealing an untold story of pain, loss, and revenge. At the center of this tale is Lea, a Stalker of mysterious intentions, who will guide players through a foreboding journey that will shape the past and future of Krat. Her role in the events of Lies of P has so far been unknown but with Lies of P: Overture, players will witness the fate of the Legendary Stalker and explore her connection to Geppetto’s Puppet.
Discover previously unseen locations ranging from beautiful Belle Époque mansions to haunting ruins of a city on the brink of collapse, and for the first time some of the city’s surrounding areas. As players untangle Krat’s past, they’ll unlock brand new weapons and Legion Arms to create unique combat styles and dispatch cunning, ruthless foes.”
Game director at ROUND8 Studio, Jiwon Choi, commented on this new DLC, stating: “The narrative in Lies of P: Overture is a tale of vengeance, impending tragedy, and dark secrets that haunt those that wanted them locked away. Our players have been eager to learn more about the events that led to the Puppet Frenzy massacre and the collapse of the City of Krat, and we look forward to delivering the truth this summer.”
