Monday, Konami did something that isn’t another Pachinko machine, I know the shock and horror. While Japanese exclusive, Kido Senshi Gundam SEED Battle Destiny, is set to get a translation later this year. Tuesday, the remaining sales for Steam this year have been revealed, shocking no one that there will be a Spring, Autumn, and Winter sale when you expect them to be. Wednesday, fantasy Rogue-lite Bullet Hell title LootMage now has a demo, and honestly, I’m surprised there isn’t a twinge of Dark Souls thrown in to truly make me feel sick.

Moving on to the Epic Games Store and it is another double, this week with a bit extra. So we’ll start with the repeat for this week and an adaptation of that film with Sonny Hayes which was an adaptation of Max Brooks’ work, World War Z Aftermath. A Left 4 Dead 2-like, Arsenal still won by 3. Ok, that one joke aside, World War Z Aftermath is actually quite good for a Left 4 Dead-clone, with just a mass of dead humanity running at you with one goal, to kill you. Not just a couple of zombies, hundreds upon hundreds.

Very little to do with Brooks’ book, which is more about the personal stories and shocking on-point reflection of what each country would end up doing in the face of a plague-like/pandemic outbreak. Again there is no escaping the Left 4 Dead comparisons, but realistically there is no other way to adapt World War Z without making it a TellTale visual novel.

Before we get to the other thing available on Epic for PC, I’ve remembered that this week we got the update to what’s also available on the mobile app. Too bad it is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords. Sure, play whatever you want on mobile, but I don’t want to play an action RPG on a screen smaller than my hand, while my fat thumbs get in the way. Phones were better when they had buttons, and I’ll stand on this until Apple’s crappy design dies a death.

Speaking of death, Garden Story. You play as a grape that’s the newly-appointed Guardian of the Grove, someone who is to go around and fight this horrible thing attacking your home called Rot. Fight the rot, play a couple of boss battles, repair and build, plant food, and even do an almost Persona/Stardew daily task thing to help improve the town. Very Zelda-inspired with a hint of other major releases, it is the wholesome indie game of wholesome indie games. Nothing to really complain about.

All this week you can pick up Garden Story and World War Z Aftermath on the Epic Games Store until Thursday, the 27th of February. On to next week and once again we’re talking about a repeat from somewhere, being it Prime Gaming offering games via Epic or Epic itself previously offering up Mages of Mystralia. An action-fantasy title with puzzles and a PS4-onwards child-friendly look.
