Cozy/wholesome games are a blast to unwind to, and they’re still going strong in 2025, with thousands of gamers looking forward to the next Wholesome Direct to get their fix of low-key, low-stress games to look forward to. Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip would be right at home in a cozy gamer’s collection, as it sits with a 96% overwhelmingly-positive rating on Steam after its May 2024 release on the platform. That’s a massive achievement for its developer snekflat, who also developed a real hidden gem in Wuppo. Thanks to that success, the game has made its way to the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch platforms on February 13th, 2025.
Already proven as a fantastic game on PC, Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip is going to reach a ton more gamers that are restricted to the PS5 or the Switch. The premise sees the titular Terry get a car with the end goal of getting to space with it. How will this be achieved? Well, the mayor has introduced a new vertical, towering road so high that it has no end in sight. Boost long enough with Terry’s trusty taxi, and he’ll make it to space. To get that much boost, you’ll have to upgrade the taxi with turbo trash as a currency scattered all around the town of Sprankelwater.
Not just your run-of-the-mill open-world collectathon, Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip is reveled thanks to its quirky characters and wacky setting. Expect lots of silly car crashes with no consequences, and plenty of odd jobs to run in your quest for junk. You’ll secure a shovel, a bug net, and a wrench to aid you in your escapades. It all turns out to be a satisfying jaunt, as you memorize the layout of the minuscule town and its inhabitants that have you doing everything from checking on a particularly well-done sunbather to a bumper car showdown with your sworn enemy.
Finding your way around town in Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip can be a real headache, as there is a highway perpendicular to the city’s roads, leading you to inadvertently pick the wrong way on your way to point B. Throw in a camera that gets stuck on the terrain and some quests that are just too obtuse to guarantee victory, and it makes it feel like playing Terry is more like a second job than a relaxing collecting marathon at certain points in its very short runtime – the opposite of the intended experience for a cozy game.
Even if some aspects aren’t perfect, Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip will delight tons of new players on the PlayStation 5 platform. It can be finished in just one or two sittings and has enough hilarity to crack dozens of smiles within its 3 to 4 hours of fun. It would have been a plus to see it make use of the DualSense controller, whether it be haptics while bumping into other cars or whacking an ornery pedestrian. Nevertheless, considering it runs like a dream on the PS5 console, that’s satisfactory to anyone keen on it for that or Switch.
