Sometimes, media imitates life. Do most people want to talk about a game that involves border patrol during the times we live in? Not really. However, it isn’t Playway’s fault that the world is going to Hell in a handbasket. So, here we are.

Playway has announced that Contraband Police will receive a new DLC called Crimson Fall. Crazy Rocks, the developers, are finally revealing the highly awaited DLC, which adds many much-needed features. Here is what the press release says about the upcoming DLC:

Contraband Police is a unique simulation game that places players in the role of a border patrol officer in a fictional communist country during the 1980s. Originally released in 2023, the game quickly gained a dedicated fan base, selling over a million copies on PC alone.

Even in 2025, Contraband Police remains highly popular, with peak player numbers holding strong and a thriving community of content creators producing gameplay videos that garner millions of views. Now, the developers at Crazy Rocks are unveiling a highly anticipated DLC, expanding on the beloved core mechanics while introducing long-awaited features—including female characters, police dogs, buses, and more. It is expected to be released at the end of this year.

Explore the conquered territories of Kagastam and new locations such as the Village of Czereniewka, the Abandoned Railway Station[,] and the State Agricultural Farm

Post-war legal reforms have allowed women to cross the borders of Acaristan! Additionally, professional drivers and state diplomats, equipped with special document sets, will be visiting the checkpoint.

Trained dogs will be assigned to all border police teams. These loyal animals will assist in detecting hidden contraband and boost the morale of the units.

To fund their war efforts, Kagastam partisans have developed a complex smuggling network. Recently, their loot has included gold and works of art. They are also involved in smuggling banned propaganda films aimed at mobilizing new supporters.

In their benevolence, the authorities of Acaristan have launched bus lines in the conquered territories. For these vehicles, all passengers are subject to inspection. Additionally, new passenger cars can be expected at the border.”

I think the idea that Contraband Police was released in 2023 and didn’t have female characters is wild. However, if so many people are still enjoying Contraband Police, this “Crimson FallDLC has a lot to offer them. Are you excited for this to be released later this year? Let us know in the comments!
