Alexx AplinI like a good City-Builder. Something about starting from scratch to build a sprawling metropolis just satisfies me. Now, a new City-Builder with an interesting concept has been announced.
Publisher Kwalee and developer Galaxy Grove have announced Town to City, which will be released sometime in 2025. This City-Builder comes with a Mediterranean twist, letting you build a 19th-century town that will slowly (hopefully) with your help become a prosperous society. Here is what the press release says about Town to City:
“Town to City is a charming city-building game where players can build an idyllic 19th-century Mediterranean town and help it flourish into a prosperous society. They can freely place and customize each element to create the perfect home for their growing population in this cozy city builder from the creators of Station to Station.”
Founder of Galaxy Grove, Joost Van Dongen commented on the collaboration with Kwalee, stating: “We’re thrilled to partner with Kwalee as our publisher! From the very beginning, they shared our passion for reimagining the city-builder genre with a fresh twist. Their belief in our vision and their unparalleled in-house publishing expertise have been instrumental in bringing this project to life. Today, we’re excited to share our announcement trailer and can’t wait to continue this journey together as we bring our game to completion!”
Additionally, Ben Forrester, VP of PC & Console at Kwalee, weighed in on the announcement, stating: “Town To City is a fantastic addition to our portfolio of games. I’m excited for Town to City, if only because I love the concept of building a city in an actual real-world location with specific real-world constraints. A lot of City-Builders want you to build a non-descript city, or a fantasy city. Building a Mediterranean city will be new and different for the genre. I hope we hear more about Town to City soon.
