Monday, why go outside this Spring come Summer when you can play The Bench demo in February, and Flaire Obscure: Expedition 33 is the most Yoko Taro game without gratuitous TnA. Tuesday, Two Point Museum showcased museum management, while WWE 2K25 has a new console-exclusive live service model coming. Wednesday, Lucas Black simulator, JDM: Japanese Drift Master got a release date. Thursday, Microsoft was apparently the top publisher of 2024 (if only they acted like it) and free-to-play WoW-wannabe Heroes of Newerth is set to return, sadly.
Moving on to the Epic Games Store, it is 2023’s story-based action RPG with a survival-crafting title, Undying. Or as it is called on Steam, Undying – “Kingdom.” With The Last of Us and God of War being the Big Hairy Dad games of late, Undying is one of those Big Hairy Mum games where you play as the mother of a young child called Cody, I believe her name was Carey. Focused on teaching the sprog how to survive in the neverending hellscape that is life, otherwise known as the zombie apocalypse, you know how this one works.
Sadly that isn’t where it ends, or at least it does for PC players. Circumnavigating the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, Epic has added third-party support for a mobile app. Starting earlier this week/late last week but didn’t really shout about it, Epic is giving away free mobile games monthly too. iOS users in the EU and Android users worldwide can download the app here, then you can get Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee (unless you’re in Russia) and Bloons TD 6.
Both are only available until February 20th and to have them considered yours, you need to download them. Yes, no clicking “add to basket” or “get,” and then never downloading them. So if your phone is filled with illegally downloaded explicit images stolen from OnlyFans, you’ll have to clear out some space. Here is hoping I forget to mention an update and never talk about mobile phone games again.
All this week, you can pick up Undying on the Epic Games Store until the morning of the 6th of February. Moving on to next week, I’ll be banging my head against a wall for the equal piles of dross from Prime Gaming, but we’ve got to talk about Beyond Blue. As a repeat, this narrative-focused ocean exploration title from 2020 (thanks for the reminder) is no Subnautica, Sunkenland, or Stranded Deep. It is more about categorizing the animals we know of down there and mostly ignoring the fact we’ve only surveyed 5% of the oceans properly.
