Hi, my name is Keiran… Come on, this is where you’re all supposed to in one disinterested voice say “Hi Keiran.” This isn’t [shop type] Simulator’s Anonymous, is it? I’ve been doing this a lot lately, trauma-dumping my experience with different shop-type-based simulators that I mindlessly walk to and wishlist before I know anything about them. I’m sure I’ll get lots more emails after Pakistani studios Silly Sloth Studios and Kheddo Entertainment announced their upcoming title, Alien Market Simulator. Certainly falling in this odd post-Supermarket Simulator space, I think Alien Market Simulator might be more Gas Station Simulator than its Turkish supermarket counterpart.

This is what the press release had to say: “Indie game developers Silly Sloth Studios and Kheddo Entertainment, and publisher Shadow Owl Studios have announced that Alien Market Simulator will be available on Steam Early Access in 2025. Alien Market Simulator invites players to run and manage a bustling market on a remote space station. Tasked with restoring and upgrading the station, you’ll expand services, cater to diverse alien customers, and tackle the complexities of running a business in space.

The story begins after you secure bail from the Intergalactic Police. Your freedom hinges on managing a station on an uncharted planet, reporting daily to the authorities, and repaying your debt. This isn’t the life you imagined, but staying diligent and meeting your obligations is your only path to independence. As you repair and customize the station, you’ll provide vital services like fuel and snacks for interstellar travelers. Earn credits to expand your offerings, but prepare for challenges, risky decisions, and the unrelenting demands of alien customers, all while pursuing your ultimate goal of freedom.

With the type of features you expect, you’ll clean and generally maintain the station, customize the market, and (of course) order inventory. However, being a bit more sci-fi inspired, Alien Market Simulator offers more interesting options, such as “Illegal Deals: Use your lawyer to navigate the risks of running underground operations.” As well as “Thief Prevention: Watch out for thieves who steal items and escape. Stop them before they succeed.Of course, maybe some of these are more long-term goals than early access launch features, as Nokta Games has also yet to implement its theft and security update.

While I’m not expecting Silly Sloth Studios and Kheddo Entertainment’s Alien Market Simulator to come out the blocks ready for full release, I’m certainly interested in this more themed surrounding than the shop itself. Not only does it look to offer more interesting-looking characters than Supermarket Simulator‘s budget James Bond and TCG Card Shop Sim‘s smelly 30-something that lives in his parent’s basement. However, I think everything can be a touch more distinct than the many games that followed since Supermarket Simulator, all looking as if they came with the same assets.

While there isn’t anything specific on Alien Market Simulator‘s release other than its Early Access launch next year, I know I ran to wishlist it straight away. However as we’ve established, I need to find some professional help because I have a problem.
