Since I saw the first trailer back during the Summer Game Fest, I’ve been interested in Detective Dotson. The idea of a mystery set on the streets of India fascinated me from the start. Now, it seems that we finally have details on when we’ll be able to get our hands on Detective Dotson.

Detective Dotson will be released on April 3rd, 2025. The cozy mystery adventure will be released on PC, though no other platforms have been revealed just yet. Here is what the press release says about Detective Dotson’s release:

Detective Dotson is a mystery adventure game set in a stylized rendition of modern-day India that puts players in the role of Dotson, a reluctant detective. You’ll be able to explore the streets of India, don a host of interesting disguises, solve mysteries, and of course, pet the dog in Detective Dotson for PC via Steam on April 3, 2025.

You’ll interact with a vibrant 2D meets 3D world, try out new disguises[,] and take on new side-quests. While the demo has a slice of what to expect, the full release is a substantially bigger experience.

Developed in Unity, the game features controller support and an original OST made in collaboration with Nikhil Rao of Indian Ocean, pioneers of Indian fusion rock.”

As mentioned above, a demo is available now for Detective Dotson, offering a taste of what prospective players can expect. Personally, the new trailer and the announcement of the release date have me excited all over again. I can’t wait to see what mysteries I can solve with Dotson and what the streets of India have in store.
