Bookshops have always been my favorite place to kill a few hours, wandering the shelves and finding my next read. I’ll get a chance to do so without all the threat of failing at running a real business next year, thanks to a newly unveiled cozy game that lets you run your dream book store.

Solo developer Bit66 announced a new cozy bookshop simulation game titled Book Bound. The cozy game allows players to run their own bookstore, including which decorations to utilize and which genres to carry. Players can attract locals to visit their bookshop and help customers find the books they are looking for. The game emphasizes coziness and a calm atmosphere with no-stress gameplay, making it the perfect way to wind down or live out your bookseller dreams. The pixel art style also lends itself to a very nostalgic, familiar look, but the art direction looks original and engaging.

You’ll manage inventory, which might sound like a nightmare in real life but should be quite fun in this cozy setting. You’ll also need to keep the shop clean and draw up business to keep the doors open. The announcement trailer seen below also promises plenty of books and furniture to unlock as you progress, incentivizing you to spend hours living out this bookworm fantasy.
