The augmented reality (AR) glasses market is a bit young for everyone to be shopping for a pair. The most known product, the Apple Vision Pro, prices a lot of folks out immediately, not to mention that many just don’t know what they need AR glasses for quite yet. XREAL, a tech startup looking to bring this type of tech to more consumers, is set to launch the XREAL One Series AR glasses to bring everything from gaming to everyday computing to more people.

The XREAL One Series includes the One and One Pro models. These are the first pair of AR glasses I’ve seen that actually motivates me to plunge into this new and exciting tech. XREAL One Series glasses can connect to an iPhone, Android device, Steam Deck, Windows PC, MacBook, or any device with video-out over USB-C. Utilizing 120hz refresh rates in each eye and 1080p resolution, I can see a lot of potential here for PC gaming when you’re looking for an alternative way to play your favorite titles.

The on-glasses customization options allow users to make the experience work for them. Customizing options include screen size, screen distance, stabilizer, side view, brightness enhancement, display optimization, color temperature, 2D/3D switching, and more.  The XREAL One Series also features Ultra Wide Mode viewing with a 32:9 aspect ratio, which I could see being really useful for productivity. In a future update after launch, XREAL Eye will add multimodal AI capabilities, including image recognition and communication via voice commands, in unison with an AI or voice assistant from the glasses’ host device.

We’re still not at the point where day-to-day life is fully implemented into AR tech like this, but we’re getting closer. A more affordable entry point than the Apple Vision Pro with plenty of hardware specs and features to back it up, the XREAL One glasses are a huge step forward for the consumer AR glasses market.
