Great 90% off deals in the Steam Autumn Sale

Steam sales are plentiful, but they’re also the gift that keeps on giving. It seems like the vast majority of the store is on sale, and the vast majority of those sales are exceptionally deep discounts. Some so much so, that you’re paying 10% of what you would if the game were full-price. Whether that means a game is worth $5.99, or even less, you’re spending about a cup of coffee for a title that can provide hours of fun. In this article, I’ve compiled a list of some seriously noteworthy 90% off discounts in the current Steam Autumn Sale for 2024.

Psychonauts 2

This is the first time that Psychonauts 2 has been offered for a measly $5.99 on digital storefronts, its previous low being $11.99 on Humble Bundle a few weeks ago. I have seen the physical edition for PS4 go for $23.99 on Woot several times, but holding off has paid off as this is as cheap as the acclaimed platformer sequel has been. Sitting at a 96% overwhelmingly positive rating on Steam, this is a game I will be picking up as my first purchase of the sale at its tempting 90% off price.

Freedom Fighters

A true hidden gem from the PS2/Xbox era, Freedom Fighters is a third-person action-adventure where the Red Army has taken over New York and you’re part of the rebellion. Freedom Fighters is noteworthy as it’s developed by IO Interactive, the team behind the Hitman franchise and gearing up for their new James Bond title. Sitting only one percent away from the aforementioned overwhelmingly positive rating, it’s a rarity to see a game from this generation still work well on modern machines, but this one being 90% off means it’s an absolute steal at $1.49 for those who are so inclined.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Sure, it’s been offered for free before on Steam, Epic Games Store, and PlayStation Plus, but if for some reason you’re a fantasy RPG fan and this isn’t in your library, you’d be missing out not grabbing Kingdom Come: Deliverance for $2.99 at 90% off. This is a game that ticks all the boxes of Elder Scrolls, but does enough on its own to separate it from the pack and be worthy of a playthrough. It’s the perfect time to grab it, as well, as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set for release on February 11th, 2025, so the expansive game can be tackled before then.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey

It’s no secret that the Assassin’s Creed series is far departed from its initial titles in gameplay, scope, and presentation. It’s debatable if this is for better or worse, but I went into Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey blind, and came away with both a new appreciation for Ancient Greece and a fulfilled large-scale RPG where I willingly – and enthusiastically – completed to 100%, thanks to emphatic voice acting, outstanding combat, and a wonderful world to explore. With a 90% discount, this is another $6 that could lead you to dozens of hours of fun.
