Metroidvania games provide different experiences depending on the development approach. Some offer climactic boss fights and more linear exploration, while others opt for a more exploration-heavy focus with a bigger focus on platforming. With what we know so far about Inayah: Life After Gods, the developers seem to be aiming for a mix of those approaches.

Developer Exogenesis Studio has revealed a new trailer for Inayah: Life After Gods, detailing more about the game. Along your quest to help Inayah find her lost tribe, you’ll explore the world, fight intense boss battles, and experience a story with multiple endings. Here’s what the press release says about the trailer and about Inayah: Life After Gods:

“Exogenesis Studio has dropped a brand-new trailer for INAYAH – Life After Gods, their jaw-dropping Metroidvania game set for an early 2025 release! Developed by some of the team behind Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, with artistry from Disney and Blizzard alumni, INAYAH will immerse players in a dazzling 2D hand-crafted world as they battle massive bosses in the quest to find Inayah’s lost tribe.

This electrifying trailer puts you face-to-face with fearsome bosses and showcases Inayah’s lethal combos that unleash relentless fury on her foes! Plus, see how Inayah uses those same skills to conquer obstacles and explore the world.

We don’t have a release date for Inayah: Life After Gods beyond an Early 2025 release window. However, we do know that the game seems to be taking an approach similar to Blasphemous II when it comes to combat, offering 3 different weapon forms and a variety of character builds.
