Stories told from generation to generation are important. Sometimes, knowing the story of someone we love from an older generation helps us understand them better. After a successful PC and Nintendo Switch launch, Red Deer Games’ heartfelt walk down memory lane is available on Xbox consoles.

Tell Me Your Story is available now on Xbox consoles. It is a hand-drawn, minimalist adventure that pays homage to childhood memories and family stories. Here is what the press release says about the Xbox launch:

Amelia and her corgi, Peanut, are spending the holidays in the countryside at her grandmother Rose’s new cottage, helping her to tidy up after the move. And just then, among all sorts of objects, she finds a real treasure. Something she had no idea existed – her grandmother’s diary from her youth, when she traveled almost all over the world as a globetrotter!

So begins Tell Me Your Story, one of Amelia’s most extraordinary adventures – a journey through her grandmother’s memories. The Amazon rainforest, the green hills of Yunnan, China and the magical sights of [the] Orient Express’ Paris-Istanbul route await for another journey together.

With the help of her vivid imagination, the girl will re-enact all of her grandmother’s remarkable adventures. Amelia will learn unique curiosities from around the world, solve many puzzles, discover special recipes from different parts of the world, and resolve even more modern riddles.

At the same time, Amelia will also strengthen her bond with her grandmother, discovering that despite such a big difference in generations, they are not so different after all. They are driven by the same values in life – a unique curiosity about the world and a call for adventure.

I love emotional games like Tell Me Your Story. Our connection to our grandparents and the impact of family stories on our worldview is very important and relatable. I wonder, though, if we’ll see Tell Me Your Story coming to PlayStation next since it’s the only console it isn’t playable on.
