Players will have the ability to engage with core aspects of the series, such as crafting a diverse range of weapons and gear, or partaking in hunts with parties of up to four players. I’m interested to see how the survival element will play into Outlanders, as I find myself more interested in the Monster Hunter series when the games deviate slightly from the standard formula. The trailer (above) also features a suite of diverse environments that can be explored by climbing, swimming, or gliding.
The environments and monsters themselves look spectacular and the overall graphical quality seems especially high for a strictly mobile title. TiMi Studio also worked on Pokémon Unite, which did receive a Nintendo Switch release post-launch. This has me thinking that Monster Hunter: Outlanders could be released for PC or consoles sometime in the future though this has not been confirmed.
TiMi Studio group producer Dong Huang had this to say in regards to Monster Hunter: Outlanders, “It’s time for mobile players to fully enjoy what makes Monster Hunter one of the most beloved franchises in gaming. Monster Hunter: Outlanders not only offers players an authentic hunting experience, but it does it in a massive open world featuring the community and social systems players are looking for today.”
As of yet, there is still no word from TiMi on an official release date, but the team has stated Monster Hunter: Outlanders will hold several pre-launch playtests. You can sign up for these and discuss the game through the official Discord server or pre-register for the game on the official website.
