I dare even the most self-proclaimed hardcore gamer to say they don’t love a good restaurant simulator. Back in the days of Diner Dash, I swore those types of games weren’t my thing. Hours passed and I was sweating in real life over my fictional restaurant. In a genre slowly growing over time, many titles allow you to take over the kitchen and give it a go at the restaurant life. Pizza Slice is the latest of these restaurant sims, and its 2025 release will have you itching for the oven all through the holidays and beyond.

The devs of Pizza Slice, Quest Craft, state that the game is more than a simple simulator – it’s a humorous and competitive journey where you’ll manage your own pizzeria and face the competition to succeed. The promise of mild story elements helps it stand out among the more barebones sandbox restaurants, or cooking sims, so that’s welcome news. Elements like sabotage and health inspections are just some obstacles players will face on their way to becoming the best pizzeria in town as well.

From exploring your grandpa’s cookbook of obscure pizza ideas to balancing relationships with the mafia, there sounds to be a fun array of options to enhance the traditional restaurant sim here. I’m curious about what more we’ll learn about Pizza Slice before its release in 2025, but I’m sold on the announcement alone. The Chicagoan in my heart and soul wonders if we’ll get a shot at making a deep dish or tavern-style thin-crust, but for now, I’ll just dream.
