Monday, the upcoming game Wax Heads finally has a publisher ahead of its release, which is still quite a while away. Tuesday, Vampire Therapist is letting you do that thing your parents never bothered going to before the divorce, with an upcoming “Couples Therapy” DLC. Wednesday, more “mature” games are coming to Switch Online, and there was a Two Point Museum event at the London Science Museum this week. Then on Thursday, there is a new Death Note game coming out which I don’t mind, I’d just like a better art direction. “It’s like the anime,” address the hate to the usual place.

Moving on to the Epic Games Store and speaking of questionable art directions, Witch It. Another asymmetrical hide-and-seek ’em up with a penchant for looking like those 3D platformers we got in the PS4 era. Of course, it is multiplayer-focused, it was released in 2020 for Steam and 2024 for Epic and does that Prop Hunt Garry’s Mod thing that was popular over 10 years ago. I’m not so much bemoaning Barrel Roll Games’ Witch It, I’m more tired of this pretense that because it’s Halloween we have to pretend it means something.

I mean sure, do one horror thing like Ghostwire Tokyo, but it is also Dia de Muertos so why not go for the other stereotype of Guacamelee? Nonetheless, the second game is the repeat of Ghostwire Tokyo, which I’m having to talk about for the umpteenth time. Part Japanese tourist board, part horror, if you’re looking for a much more nuanced take on it, Alexx has a full review that is less tired of talking about the Shinji Mikami and Ikumi Nakamura-produced title. If you’re unfamiliar, she’s the fun one from E3 a few years ago.

All this week you can pick up Ghostwire Tokyo and Witch It on the Epic Games Store until the 7th of November. Again, clocks in certain regions change so Epic may return to the normal time where you are if you already have changed. Onto next week and it is another double bill with a repeat, this time Sweet Bandits Studios and Tripwire Interactive’s Deceive Inc., which you probably already have. This alongside the “Ash Free Unlock Bundle” for Apex Legends will be available next week.
