The Talos Principle II was a superb continuation of what the original game crafted. Devolver Digital and Croteam did an expert job maintaining a philosophical and engaging puzzle experience. Now, a new collaboration is bringing The Talos Principle to a different kind of puzzle game.

Pine Studio has collaborated with Croteam and Devolver Digital for “Escape Simulator: The Talos Principle DLC.” It is an original name, to be sure, but it is now available on Steam for PC and Meta Quest devices. Here is what the press release says about Escape Simulator: The Talos Principle DLC:”

“Pine Studio, in collaboration with Croteam and Devolver Digital, have today launched ‘Escape Simulator: The Talos Principle DLC’, the next free DLC for Escape Simulator based on the world of the award-winning puzzle game series The Talos Principle, on Steam and Meta Quest. In the new DLC, budding escapees can team up with friends or go solo into the realm of the metaphysical where they’ll need to work to escape the simulation by solving a series of mind-bending challenges using solutions that warp both time and space.

Players who can’t get enough Escape Simulator can also pack their bags for the newly-announced ‘Mayan DLC,’ coming December 5th for US $5.99 and featuring four all-new escape rooms set deep in the Central American jungle. They can also check out the series’ six previous DLC for even more escape room adventures!

I personally love seeing more collaboration between indie games and popular gaming experiences. It’s even better that they’re offering this DLC for free, giving more content to players and fans. I’m sure that after the Mayan DLC, even more DLC will be on the horizon. Who knows, there might even be new collaborations in 2025.
