I’m more and more amazed lately by how inventive people get with the Sim genre. I never would have guessed how much I’d adore PowerWash Simulator, and I’ve played a few other “Dad Sims” since then. Now, there is a new upcoming Dad Sim getting a demo for Steam Next Fest, and it is very interesting.

Leaf Blower Simulator (from Lift Indie Games) is getting a demo during the upcoming Steam Next Fest. The demo will be available from October 14th to October 21st, though we’re not sure if the demo will still be available afterward. Here is what the press release says about Leaf Blower Simulator:

“Dive leaf-first into your new life running a leaf-blower business in ‘Leaf Blower Sim’, the not-at-all exciting new title from Lift Indie Games– and why should it have to be exciting? Leaf-blowing is all about slow and steady. Leaf-blowing is all about collecting one, two, four, eight, [or] a thousand leaves together– all the time in the world to gather from all corners of the neighborhood. Take your time. Take it easy.

Leaf Blower Sim, built in Unreal Engine 5, is set to feature as a part of the October Steam Next Fest, with a free demo available from October 14th to 21st. Players will corral brightly-colored leaves from all over into the composting bins in order to raise money to improve their equipment, grow their business, and just get everything tidied up! Never has the hum of a leaf-blower been so relaxing!

I love the idea of Leaf Blower Sim. I’m sure it will have the same meditative, relaxing vibe as Powerwash Simulator, just with a different gameplay loop. There is no word yet on when Leaf Blower Sim will be released beyond “December 2024”, but the demo should hold people over for a while.
