Fae Farm Heading to PlayStation and Xbox

We’re experiencing no shortage of farming sims in the last 10 years. For a genre that felt more or less reduced down to the Harvest Moon franchise, there are now small indie teams and major AAA studios working on farming simulators. One of my most recent favorites, Fae Farm is currently a Nintendo Switch and PC-only game, but that won’t be the case for much longer. Developer Phoenix Labs announced Fae Farm will launch on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X│S, Xbox One, and Windows Store on October 22, 2024.

Fae Farm takes players on a wonderful gameplay loop with plenty of room to customize and creatively make the world their own. Each day, players will tend to their farms and farm animals, get to know the residents of the world Azoria, explore varied environments, gather resources, decorate their homesteads, and delve into the depths of the world to uncover the magic they’ll need to restore its splendor. The game’s Cozy System rewards players for creating specialized furniture and home decor, buffing their health, stamina, and mana each day.

One element I love about this game is the unique art style. It’s not quite Animal Crossing, nor is it a direct chibi design, but it’s something I find to be very cozy and welcoming. The color palate of the game is also dynamic, ensuring you’re not just looking at earth tones during your playthrough but a wide variety of shades and hues. I’ve played the game on Switch and enjoyed it quite a bit, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up grabbing this one on Xbox as well.

Both the Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition of Fae Farm will be available at launch, as well as the DLC packs “Coasts of Croakia” and “Skies of Azoria.” The DLC packs further grow players’ worlds. “Coasts of Croakia” provides new islands, new characters, and a new magical croaking companion. In “Skies of Azoria” players explore the lands that float above Azoria, tackling new challenges and making new friends along the way.
