A fun fact about me is that I’m fascinated by the concept of Witchcraft and magic. Of course, readers with keen eyes would probably know this from my reviews of The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, Black Book, and more. The cultural idea of Witchcraft, spread through history amongst multiple continents, societies, and landscapes fascinates me. Last Minute Studios’ Mystopia is a curious little game taking on this concept.

If you are interested in Mystopia like I am, a new demo is available on Steam. This demo covers their new “Trains, Fences, and Walls” update, offering an array of new elements and features. Here is what the press release says about Mystopia and the new update:

Indie developer Last Minute Studios has launched a new DEMO of Mystopia, the cozy sandbox game inspired by witchcraft, now live on Steam. The update, titled “Trains, Fences & Walls,” introduces new ways for players to personalize and engage with their worlds, alongside a major graphical overhaul.

Mystopia is a relaxing sandbox game about building your own worlds and crafting magical potions. Discover blocks inspired by witchcraft from different cultures, use potions for mystifying effects, and build your dream worlds!

The team wanted Mystopia to be a game you could play while relaxing and sipping your favorite drink, and their color and lighting rework does just that. Players can now build their own railway systems using straight or curved tracks and place trains on them to run through their worlds.

Mystopia adds a new dimension of interactivity with fences and walls, making it easier than ever to beautify your worlds. Players can now place two or more compatible fences or walls next to each other to merge them, with each culture offering its own blocks.

Blocks can now be transformed on the fly. Don’t like a block or want a variation? Simply click on it to transform it into its variant, providing more design freedom. Players can now get the items back from the Cauldron. If you change your mind about a potion, simply click on the Cauldron to get your items back and try a different recipe.”

Now that this demo is out, I’m even more excited to give Mystopia a try. There’s no release date yet for Mystopia, but I am thrilled to see what the final release looks like. Either way, this demo is a great way to see what Mystopia is like so far.
