I love a good simulation game as much as the next person. I’m also a huge fan of RPG’s. Alan Kilzi’s A Hero’s Rest blends the two to tremendous effect. We finally have a full release date for its 1.0 release.

After two years of Early Access, A Hero’s Rest will be released on October 18th, 2024. Until August 12th, you can pick up A Hero’s Rest on Steam (or Epic) for 25% off as well. Here is what the press release has to say about the game’s premise:

A Hero’s Rest is a charming indie game where you become the proprietor of a medieval fantasy town. Your goal is to build and manage a thriving community to support a band of heroic adventurers. Build shops, craft equipment, and manage resources to help your heroes grow stronger as they embark on perilous quests. With its blend of town management and RPG elements, A Hero’s Rest offers a unique and engaging experience for players who enjoy management and customization.”

That’s not all that was revealed in this announcement though. In the 1.0 update, there will be a new class called the Wisdom class, further customization with Weapon Master specializations, and more. Additionally, there is an increased population cap in the cards, as well as dynamic seasons that will require new strategies and change how players approach their goals.

The press release also commented on the 1.0 release, stating: “Building upon the strong foundation established during Early Access, which saw the introduction of party and raid mechanics, new stations, crafting templates, and the flexible mutator system, A Hero’s Rest 1.0 delivers a richer and more immersive gameplay experience.”

Now is the perfect time to check out A Hero’s Rest, or at least pick it up ahead of its October release date. I’m curious to see how the 1.0 release does, since the game already seems stacked with content. Who knows, maybe there’s more on the horizon after the 1.0 release too.
