It’s always a positive thing when Indie games receive more support. The easiest way to do so is by making the game more available to wider audiences. This week Auroch Digital announced it will be publishing the turn-based RPG, Wildermyth, on consoles.

Set in the fantasy realm of The Yondering Lands and developed by Worldwalker Games, Wildermyth gained significant praise on PC for its tactics-driven mechanics and unique papercraft graphical style. A style popularized by Nintendo with Paper Mario and Thousand-Year Door. Characters in Wildermyth will face a variety of procedurally generated challenges on their quest to become heroes just like in a tabletop RPG. Each encounter will shape the narrative of your party in unique ways as they will unlock additional abilities or face dire consequences. Another core mechanic of the game is the generational storytelling. This will allow your characters to become immortalized through history through offspring or especially heroic deeds.

Auroch Digital is bringing Wildermyth to Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on the 22nd of October 2024. The console version will of course be optimized with a unique UI and control scheme that will ensure natural gameplay. The biggest new features come in the form of a Monster Compendium and local co-op, which is especially exciting. One of the best experiences you can have is playing a game in person with a friend. I’m happy to see some studios giving attention to the feature despite the prevalence of online co-op in the modern era of gaming.

Console versions of Wildermyth will also be available not only through digital download but physically as well. Though this version will only be available through select retailers, those who choose to purchase the hard copy will receive a few special bonuses. Physical editions come packaged with a detailed physical version of the Monster Compendium along with the exclusive Off-hand Item DLC skin pack.

I've been playing games since I was a little kid. I have a soft spot for Nintendo titles and RPG's but play all kinds of titles across a variety of platforms. Outside of games I love to play music and practice martial arts. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram as well.
