Players of WWE 2K24 are less than pleased with the newest downloadable pack that centers around The Pat McAfee Show. Comprised solely of real-life members of commentator Pat McAfee’s podcast, ire has been drawn as a large vocal group of fans who would have preferred actual wrestlers instead make noise. Massively liked comments mention, “So, the worst pack in DLC history got pushed back so they could make sure we got the football?” and “This is the worst update possible for a DLC people already weren’t hype[d] for. Move up pack 6,” indicating that this will be the most unpopular DLC pack for the game yet.

Despite actually wrestling at Wrestlemania and being very relevant to the show, Pat McAfee is only one of five playable characters in the pack. The other four members of the podcast are less so relevant to the WWE landscape and bear little to offer in the scope of dream matches or player investment. Even with the ongoing Wyatt Sicks interruptions on his podcast for crossover appeal, this hasn’t been a two-way street and players have no desire for this pack. The announcement of the delay of this pack for a week was played off with the message “with usable football!” is just ripe to be memed at this point.

Pat McAfee has responded to critics of this pack: “Some of these [bum**s] IWC folks are calling this the worst DLC of all time… That’s rude… Very rude.” In a game like WWE 2K24 where the roster is absolutely stacked, the DLC characters need to be legendary alumni or up-and-comers from NXT to truly secure purchases, but this very well may be one of the least-purchased packs in recent memory. Fans of The Pat McAfee Show are nevertheless excited, but it will still be interesting to see the fan response after this pack releases on its new date of July 31st.
