Guilty Gear -Strive- Season Pass 4 Revealed

This week at EVO, developer Arc System Works revealed details for the latest batch of DLC content coming to Guilty Gear -Strive-. Season 4 promises a generous breath of new content, including new game modes, characters, and more.

The newest game mode, called “Team of 3,” will be entering open beta from July 26th through the 29th. As the name implies this mode will pit a total of six players against one another online in 3-on-3 battles. Players will be placed into the roles Main or Assist, which can be switched freely in fights, during matches Assist characters can also perform a variety of special actions in order to support the main players.

The next major content coming to -Strive- will be new characters, with Arc System Works announcing four new fighters – the first two of which are returning veterans, Dizzy and Venom. Both debuted in Guilty Gear X and have been staples of the series since then. I’m particularly excited by Venom, as his unique Pool cue weapon always invites fun-looking combat animations. Dizzy is set to release later this year while Venom will be joining the roster in early 2025.

The next character will be a brand new fighter, Unika. This character is also stated to play a major part in the upcoming Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime, set to release in 2025. The last character coming in 2025 is also from an anime series: Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be making an appearance in the first-ever guest collaboration for the Guilty Gear series. I’m interested to see how this character plays, though the decision to include her is a little odd in my opinion.

Lastly, in addition to new characters players can expect two new stages along with two new color packs. One of these will be exclusive to those who purchase the entire season pass and will contain a total of 31 colors.

Guilty Gear -Strive- is available for PC, PS4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and Season Pass 4 is available for purchase now.
