A busy week for news, this one. Monday, press X to doubt rumors swirling around former Team Bondi devs, and Critter Crops got a release date. Tuesday, Piranha Bytes was reportedly shuttered and a new studio rose from its ashes, there’s a new Bleach game on the way, and the Cities: Skylines 2 console port is on hold. Wednesday, Total War: PHARAOH is to get a major update, Deathbound gets a release date, and if you have $9K in your back pocket (and a lot of toot up your nose) you can own a Godzilla-themed pinball machine. Thursday, a Trauma Center successor was announced for this year.
Moving on to the Epic Games Store and it is a simple one this week, Floppy Knights. A colorful, turn-based, card battler with hints of simple “good vs. evil” narratives. Released in 2022, you play as Phoebe, a young inventor who, alongside her robot-arm, Carlton, will traverse the Mario jingle worlds: Grasslands, Desert, Ocean, Jungle, Ice World, Fire World, Boss. Okay, maybe you don’t cover all the tropes, but you certainly cover a lot of land to fight your nemesis, Alex.
All this week you can pick up Floppy Knights on the Epic Games Store until Thursday, the 18th of July. Moving on to next week and I seem to be saying this a lot lately because it still strikes me as odd, Maid of Sker is a horror-based bump-in-the-night simulator from 2020 by Wales Interactive. They’re a studio mostly known for its middling FMV titles. However, that’s not all, as you will also be able to pick up Nosebleed Interactive’s Arcade Paradise, where you turn a family-owned Laundromat into an arcade. Here’s hoping Camille Coduri isn’t flashing her knickers to Marc Warren.
