NASCAR Tracks Join Fortnite Rocket Racing

The popular motorsport racing league NASCAR is officially joining the list of companies entering the Fortnite ecosystem. The racing brand is debuting in the Rocket Racing game mode launched earlier this year with a one-of-a-kind recreation of its Chicago Street Course. The track launches just ahead of the actual NASCAR Chicago Street Race taking place July 7th, and is a likely sign that more NASCAR content is coming. Here’s what we know so far.

Last year, NASCAR debuted its Chicago Street Race, a race that takes drivers throughout the historic city of Chicago. The Rocket Racing version of this track was developed in partnership with award-winning UK metaverse studio, Karta, bringing the real thing to life in the Fortnite ecosystem. According to NASCAR press, the company is setting its sights on a permanent fixture on the platform, with the Chicago map marking the start of a long-term racing experience for players visit regularly.

Karta is an award-winning metaverse studio renowned for creating engaging virtual gaming experiences for global brands. Since its inception in July 2021, Karta has collaborated with a diverse range of global brands, including Nicki Minaj, BLACKPINK, TWICE, Amazon Music, McDonald’s, Spotify, and Hugo Boss. The NASCAR Chicago Street Race is available to play on Fortnite now via the map code 0012-6902-9252.

Even if you’re still predominately hopping into Battle Royale when you boot up Fortnite, it’s incredible what Epic Games is doing with its additional modes like Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival. As these modes continue to grow, things like the NASCAR collaboration will push new players to enjoy the closest thing to an actual Metaverse we have. I’ll be checking out the Chicago course seeing as the actual thing is less than an hour from my house and I won’t have to deal with traffic to log on to my Xbox.
