Do I really need to say it? We covered Faux-E3 (Summer Game Fest) and that included: Summer Game Fest, Day of the Devs, Devolver Direct, Xbox, Access-Ability, the COD: Black Ops 6 Direct, Wholesome Direct, Ubisoft Forward, the PC Gaming Show, and the Future of Play Direct. More coverage later today and on Monday from me. Also, more developers are seemingly releasing games on Mac, because that seems like a system to do a lot of intense “hardcore” PC gaming. With the news out of the way, let’s get to what we’re here for.

Moving on to the Epic Games Store and what’s available this week, I’ll not mince words, some free-to-play tripe. For Codename Entertainment’s Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, the Dungeons & Dragons-infused idle management “strategy” game has an offer on right now where if you log in this week, you can get an “exclusive skin, exclusive familiar, and 5 champion unlocks.” All of which is supposedly valued at “over $100 USD.” Wow… I’d rather write another Faux-E3 show, quite frankly.

The game you actually care about this week is Redout 2, a sequel to 34BigThings’ 2016 successor to F-Zero, Wipeout, Rollcage, and other anti-gravity-style racing games. Despite releasing in 2021, I can’t help but not care after a week of writing about over 200 games that are out now or coming in the next 2-12 years. Yes, Redout 2 is pretty, shiny, a “tribute to classic arcade racing games,” and currently free, but I’m busier than your dad in a nightclub bathroom, so I might be a little short on enthusiasm. In fact, I’m high on apathy and snark.

All this week you can pick up Redout 2 and whatever the thing is for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms until the morning of the 20th of June. Moving on to next week, I’ve got to talk about another repeat? Fantastic! Sarcasm included, I’ll be talking about the beautiful puzzle game from 2019, LEGO Builder’s Journey. Previously exclusive to iOS and macOS, the LEGO title came to Windows in 2021. Also, if I hear anyone call it “LEGOs” I’ll kick them until their grave hurts.
