Cassette Beasts to Receive New Switch Release

One of the more intriguing titles to enter the genre of monster-catching RPGs Cassette Beasts was released in April of last year. I’m excited to try this game out and though it’s available on PC, I can’t deny I prefer playing while relaxing on the couch. Another preference of mine is the ability to purchase physical media; now I will have the opportunity to do just that. Super Rare Games has recently announced it will collaborate with the publisher Raw Fury to bring Cassette Beasts to the Switch in a new physical release.

Cassette Beasts takes place in New Wirral, a remote island where humans utilize the power of Cassette tapes and Walkmans to transform into various collectible critters. The game also features an interesting fusion mechanic that allows you to customize your team members using hundreds of unique combinations. The game also features online multiplayer and is an open-world with dozens of characters to interact with and exciting locales to visit.

This hard copy of the game will be released this week on June 6th and includes the Pier of the Unknown and Cosplay Pack DLC content. This special release will be limited to a total of 8,000 copies. 5,000 copies will be the standard edition while the remaining 3,000 will be comprised of deluxe versions. The deluxe version comes with a full-color artbook, a CD soundtrack, a sticker sheet, and an old-school game manual for that true retro feeling.

Additionally, owners of the deluxe edition can also expect a full set of collectible trading cards featuring some of the game’s creatures. This limited-time release is available for purchase directly through the Super Rare Games Online Store. Cassette Beasts is available now for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and IOS and Android devices.
