This week marks the launch of the latest batch of DLC for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Honestly, it’s still mind-blowing to me that this game is still receiving support from Bandai but considering it’s essentially the ultimate Dragon Ball MMORPG, I shouldn’t be surprised. The game has also been consistently successful in terms of sales with over 10 million copies sold.  This new DLC is the first in a planned four-part content update that will be released over the next year.

The “Future Saga: Chapter 1” DLC will add some brand new story missions involving Fu. This character was first created for the now-dead Dragon Ball Online and then transferred to the Super Dragon Ball Heroes games, which were only released in Japan. He also appeared in the corresponding promotional anime shorts and manga for the games as a primary antagonist.

Now the character is finally making an appearance within a mainline series game within the official canon. In terms of background, Fu is the son of the demons Towa and Mira, who act as the main villains for the Xenoverse story and utilize time travel to manipulate events to their whims. Fu looks to follow in their footsteps recruiting powerful fighters to secure his place as king of the Demon World.

In addition to Fu, other characters will be added to the playable roster for this update. Players can expect to see Goku Black with an Ultra Supervillain form. Vegeta will also receive an Ultra Supervillain form while activating Super Saiyan God.  Finally, Videl and Android 18 will be added with their Dragon Ball Super outfits and moves along with Broly in restrained form.

The “Future Saga” DLC will also contain an additional twelve parallel quests, fifteen additional moves, three different costumes, and sixty-three unique loading screen illustrations. Three extra missions involving Broly, Goku Black, and Vegeta will also be a highlight of this content.

Alongside this release, players can also expect a free update which will add six more costumes, seven raid quests, expanded level caps, and a mix of stages, badges, and emotes. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and the “Future Saga” DLC are available now for PS4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

I've been playing games since I was a little kid. I have a soft spot for Nintendo titles and RPG's but play all kinds of titles across a variety of platforms. Outside of games I love to play music and practice martial arts. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram as well.
