I love a good cozy game. When you can mix light puzzles with an appealing visual aesthetic, I’m checking your game out 10 times out of 10. That’s why Star Stuff grabbed my attention immediately. Developer Ánimo Games and publisher Astra Logical have announced that the cute puzzle automation game about fixing a star factory will be released on June 7 on PC via Steam. Star Stuff will also take part in the Women Led Games Showcase that’s part of the 2024 Summer Game Fest on June 8. Here’s what we know so far about this delightful adventure:

Star Stuff is a relaxing puzzle automation game that blends automation and strategic action. The player programs bots to solve 100+ puzzles as the new-hire engineer named Mija. With helpful bots, infinite retries, and cozy lobbies to relax in between levels, Star Stuff is perfect for a chill puzzling experience, one star at a time. The developers say the style and presentation of the puzzles are meant to mimic a programmer’s mindset, but can be equally entertaining for newcomers and experienced programmers alike.

Ánimo Games is a small indie game studio based in California, Vancouver, and Brazil, and Star Stuff will be their debut game. I think the top-down view that’s featured in screenshots and the trailer below really lends itself to Star Stuff being a potentially great title. With great use of color and hopefully challenging yet fair puzzles, many people love these sorts of games and will want to check this one out.

You can get your hands on Star Stuff when the cozy puzzle platformer is released on June 7 on PC via Steam. The game will also take part in the Women Led Games Showcase that’s part of the 2024 Summer Game Fest on June 8 if you want a deeper look before purchasing. Check out the trailer below!
