This week indie publisher and developer Tinybuild Games released a short games showcase for some upcoming titles. There are a few interesting-looking titles you may want to keep an eye on so let’s get into the details.
Kicking off the livestream came the gameplay reveal trailer for SAND a cool new first-person shooter set in a steampunk-inspired desert world Sophie. The game will feature PVP and PVE content and will allow you to pilot a massive mechanical walker called a Trampler that looks like something straight out of a Mad Max film. Development for this project will be led by the studio Hologryph which is set to hold a beta test this summer.
In a similar vein, the next game Drill Core also takes place in a steampunk world. However, this time we focus on the action beneath the surface. This game places you in charge of a team of miners who journey to distant worlds in search of loot. While managing your team and researching new technologies you’ll need to defend against various alien threats that will seek to sabotage your operation. The game is holding a playtest that is open now.
Another charming management sim Train Valley World also made an appearance. This game takes the basis of Rollercoaster Tycoon and combines it with the old-school vibe of industrial America. The game will be releasing for PC on August 8th.
Following this came the survival horror shooter Level Zero: Extraction. As the name suggests this title provides “a unique take on survival experience which blends the heart-pounding tension of asymmetric horrors with the high-stakes showdowns of extraction shooters. Embark on a dangerous scavenging expedition where 3 teams of up to 3 mercenaries compete for loot, and dare to come back. Or take on the role of two deadly alien monsters and hunt for human prey.” It will be released sometime later this year
One of my favorite games showcased here was Voin. This is a first-person action RPG with a heavy emphasis on fast-paced action. From the gameplay trailer, it’s clearly inspired by Doom and Dark Souls and features some wonderful character designs. The updated demo of the game is available now on Steam.
Another title that caught my eye is The King is Watching. Boasting a wonderfully simple art style, this game combines roguelites and tower defense where you must defend your castle against waves of increasingly challenging enemies. The demo is available now
Next came the announcement of a July 23rd release date for the colorful PVP arena shooter Rawmen. This title will be free to play and pits teams of 2-8 players against one another to battle it out with a host of food-themed weaponry and culinary skills.
Fans of Life Sim games will be happy to hear that Not For Broadcast will receive a new DLC called Timeloop. This game places you in control of the Nightly News as you decide what goes on air and how it’s presented utilizing various editing tools. The DLC will be launching this Summer. Additionally, Punch Club 2: Fast Forward will also receive DLC which shakes the boxing universe with a new storyline and skills. The Iron Fist DLC planned for this summer will allow you to train your very own robot boxing legend to become the champion.
Astor: Blade of the Monolith is an upcoming third-person action-adventure RPG that hopes to bring some charming characters and world-building to PC on May 30th. Players can expect around 20 hours of single-player content with an engaging story and dozens of side quests to experience on their quest through the once-vibrant planet of Gilese.
The hilarious shooter game Duckside will receive an open beta on June 6th. The premise of the game is simple: build a base and survive against others just like in something like Rust of PUBG, except everyone is a duck.
I Am Future the post-apocalyptic life sim will receive a big content update that adds some sporting-themed elements and a new weather system. Finally, this showcase ended with a look at Kingmakers. This is another wacky blend of themes based on the absurd question: What would Middle Ages battles look like with modern-era military technology? Boasting some impressive visuals and large-scale battles, the game is set to release later this year for PC.
If you have an interest in these games or other titles by Tinybuild now is a great time to pick some up. Tinybuild will be holding a Steam publisher sale from now until May 27th.
