Star Wars content in Fortnite has always been great, but this new update brings a lot to the growing array of game modes. From new items to purchase to many great quests to pursue, it’s always exciting when this major collaboration returns. For fans of Star Wars, the theme this time around is a little less focused on the Jedi, but it’s not for the worse. Great new weapons and some really wonderful skins from the Original Trilogy make this one of the best Star Wars Fortnite collaborations to date. Here’s what is new to the game, starting with the Battle Royale opportunities that await players.

Chewbacca has been captured and it’s up to you to rescue him at a randomized Imperial Roadblock. While you might not find him every time you check one, you can fight stormtroopers for their E-11 Blasters. Better yet, the Imperial Chests at these roadblocks come with an opportunity to pick up a Wookie Bowcaster. Darth Vader can also be found in the Lambda Shuttle. Defeat Vader in battle and you’ll be able to pick up his lightsaber, which if you’ve played with the Saber in past Star Wars events, is worth trying to pick up. A lot of these items are part of the special Star Wars quests, so you’ll have lots of opportunities to get to use them all.

Other game modes have fun, timed events as well. An area inspired by Mos Eisley’s famous Cantina will be coming to the Fortnite Festival Jam Stage, and Rocket Racing is getting its own set of special quests. In LEGO Fortnite, you can make progress in the LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure as you help out the Rebellion. This Pass has unlockable rewards including Star Wars Builds and Decor, and the Chewbacca Outfit you’ll get just for upgrading to the Pass’ Premium Reward Track. There’s also a ton of LEGO Fortnite content for purchase as well as great options for the other game modes.

You can read about all of the items up for purchase here, but some of the highlights include new Dagobah Luke, Lando Calrissian, and AWR Trooper Outfits. Original and New Trilogy skins returned to the shop as well. For Fortnite Festival, you can play the famous “Cantina Band” song with new intergalactic Instruments. Play like an Ewok percussionist with the Endorian Drum Kit, or if you’re the lead, become a Nalargonist with the Nalargon Keytar. There’s no shortage of new things to try, so head into your favorite Fortnite mode and enjoy!
