I love games that tackle regional cuisine accurately and respectfully. Of course, with a name like Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator, you’d hope it was authentic, right? Well, a new type of cuisine is now available in the Restaurant sim.

Released yesterday, you can now cook and enjoy Japanese cuisine in Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator. The “Tokyo Delight DLC is now available, offering a variety of new dishes and content. Here is what the press release has to say about the DLC:

“Japanese food lovers can lick their lips: Tokyo Delight DLC for Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator, from the LIFE range of games, is now available on all platforms. With 8 iconic new recipes from Japanese cuisine, Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator adds to its collection of international recipes.

Fans of tempura, ramen, gyoza and traditional sushi can now hone their Japanese cooking skills with 24 new ingredients, which open up new dish possibilities and new flavor experiences to offer their customers. As well as a new station for preparing sushi rice, five new tableware items are available for creating the perfect plating.

Players can also transform their restaurant into a welcoming izakaya straight from the streets of Tokyo thanks to 54 decor items, and host customers like a true itamae with a complete iconic outfit.

With Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator, players can live the life of a restaurant owner and improve their skills to one day be featured in the Michelin Guide and even receive its famous culinary distinctions. This can only be achieved through excellent cooking technique, selecting the best ingredients[,] and leading a talented kitchen team so customers have a wonderful experience every day.”

I’m definitely interested in checking out Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator. The “Tokyo Delight” DLC is available on all platforms and adds even more depth to the game. Here’s hoping we see other regional cuisines show up.
