Final Fantasy XVI Rising Tide DLC Launches this April

While I personally had issues with Final Fantasy XVI, the latest mainline title in the franchise has found considerable success. The Echoes of the Fallen DLC was released back in December, and now the second mainline expansion called The Rising Tide is on its way. Specifically, the release is coming a bit sooner than I realized.

The Rising Tide expansion DLC will be coming to Final Fantasy XVI on April 18^th. You can purchase it and the Echoes of the Fallen DLC together at a discounted price via the FFXVI expansion pass. Here is what the press release had to say about the DLC.

“The Rising Tide unlocks an all-new story, battles, sidequests, weapons, accessories, level cap[,] and more, adding a new depth to Clive’s journey before the exciting conclusion of FINAL FANTASY XVI. In The Rising Tide, an unmarked letter arrives to Clive at the hideaway containing a request to rescue the Dominant of Leviathan the Lost. This new DLC takes Clive and his companions to the hidden land of Mysidia to uncover the tragic history of a forgotten people.

Special bonus items for purchasing The Rising Tide or the Expansion Pass include a reimagined version of the “Curtana,” the signature weapon used by the Warrior of Light in FINAL FANTASY XIV, as well as “Torn from the Heavens” and “Through the Maelstrom” Orchestrion Rolls, to be played as background music in the hideaway.”

There is also a free update coming with the release of the DLC that will add various quality-of-life improvements. If they added a few more accessibility features, I might consider playing through the game again. I am a little excited to check out Mysidia though. Regardless, April 18^th is on its way, so there is plenty of time to finish Echoes of the Fallen before the new DLC drops.
