The development of Multiversus has been an interesting thing to watch. After launching in “Early Access” and then facing several issues, the game was taken down to be reworked and adjusted. Now, it seems that Warner Bros. Games is finally ready to take the lid off the pot and show us what they have cooking.

Multiversus will be fully released (again?) on May 28th, 2024. This new release will have new characters, personalities, a PVE mode, and more. This announcement came with a development update from Player First Games, the dev team for MultiVersus. Here is what the press release says about Multiversus:

Developed by Player First Games, MultiVersus features a strong emphasis on online cooperative gameplay that is complemented by an ever-expanding roster of popular characters based on Warner Bros. Discovery franchises, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and Black Adam (DC); Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo); Bugs Bunny, Tasmanian Devil a.k.a. Taz, and Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes); Arya Stark (Game of Thrones); Tom & Jerry (Tom and Jerry); Finn the Human and Jake the Dog (Adventure Time); Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe); Iron Giant (The Iron Giant), LeBron James (Space Jam: A New Legacy); Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith (Rick and Morty); Gizmo and Stripe (Gremlins); and an extraordinary original creature named Reindog.

Multiversus will be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles with full cross-platform support and play. Hopefully, this will go a little more smoothly than their last launch, as I think Warner Bros. has plenty of properties that could be fun in a brawler like this. Can you imagine the Animaniacs fighting Superman? Or Pinky and The Brain? Only time will tell whether Multiversus finds success or not. Either way, it’ll be fun to see what happens.
