It’s been a news-heavy week, so let’s be selective. Monday, Golfinite is now on the Switch. Tuesday, we had the news of the Xbox podcast with those details later today, Dead Cells has ended “Creative Development,” and Demon Slayer is getting another new game. Wednesday, The Wo Long and Lies of P collab DLC is out now, and Blade Prince Academy has its release date. Thursday, Sony revealed the 9th console generation is coming to an end in the coming years, and DRG: Survivor is now out in early access.

Moving on to this week’s free game on the Epic Games Store and we’ve only got one to cover this week: Dakar Desert Rally. No longer heading to Dakar, I don’t know why the Saudi-banked sports-washing version of the Paris-Dakar rally got a game. By most accounts, all the Dakar Rally titles released throughout the years have been rather dull with the latest version, Dakar Desert Rally, despite having a sense of scale is plagued with crashes, poor performance, frustrating aspects, and ok gameplay. Maybe enjoyable for a while, but Dakar Desert Rally isn’t going to turn anyone into a motorsports fan.

All this week, you can pick up Dakar Desert Rally on the Epic Games Store until Thursday, the 22nd of February. Onto next week, you’ll probably skip it, as it is another repeat. Not just a repeat but a whole early catalogue of repeats which we’ve already seen this Prime this monthFallout (1), Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics, back when Interplay made games like FalloutBaldur’s GateWastelandPlanescape: Torment, and of course the most important of them all, Mario Teaches Typing.
