Demon Slayer Party Game Coming Soon

Out of all the franchises to receive a Mario Party-like title I certainly would not have expected it to be Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Personally, I believe a straightforward action RPG would be the best way to adapt the series into a great video game. However, considering how popular the anime and manga are, I suppose it’s natural for companies to look for new ways to drive fans towards the successful products in whatever form imaginable.

The action anime series first broke into the gaming market with the release of a 3D arena fighter titled, Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles back in the summer of 2021. The game garnered a lukewarm reception from most critics and audiences but seemed to be decently successful.

Yesterday, the team at Sega unveiled the newest gameplay trailer for the upcoming title, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep The Board!. Utilizing well-known characters and locations from the popular series, every board will alternate between a day and night cycle. The trailer showcases three boards based on the Tsuzumi Mansion, Mt. Natagumo, and Mugen Train respectively. Daytime activities will have players competing against one another in minigames and collecting items all while advancing around the board. Once night falls you’ll face demons in combat utilizing the motion control functionality of the Nintendo Switch.

The game boasts a large roster of playable characters. The main heroes Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu are here along with most of the Hashira swordsmen. Surprisingly Tanjiro’s sister, Nezuko will be relegated to an exclusive support role helping you along the journey to become the strongest Demon Slayer amongst friends. Other characters can also join your team during the game to provide added bonuses to your dice rolls or gather extra buffs.
