Xbox Series X|S Game Gift Guide 2023

While there may not have been too many exclusive games of note that came to the Xbox Series X|S this year, there are still a few gems that can be found on the console. While some of the games on this list can be found on other systems, these are what I believe to be the quintessential games for any Xbox gamer in 2023. Without further ado, let’s dive right in!

Hi-Fi Rush

Hi-Fi Rush was one of the surprise hits that kicked off 2023. With almost no advertising or promotion of any sort, Hi-Fi Rush proved to be a game that took the internet by storm. From its unique gameplay, phenomenal soundtrack, and shiny art direction, Hi-Fi Rush has quite a lot going for it. Hopefully, we see more work from the studio on similar titles soon. Starfield

One of the biggest exclusives that Xbox had this year, Starfield released with the usual jank and bugs that have become synonymous with Bethesda. Regardless, people were still willing to explore this new world that is the first original IP that Bethesda has created in at least 25 years. This game takes notes from multiple different space franchises to create a unique universe to explore. Lies of P

One of the most unique Souls games to have come out and an interesting 2023 release, Lies of P is a game that blends Pinnochio with the Victorian Era and Steampunk vibes. It features a dark crumbling city of Krat where puppets have taken over the city while a mysterious illness ravages the remaining human population. As a unique creation of Gepetto, you must dive into the depths of the city and find a way to become more than you are. Minecraft Legends

Minecraft has been around for such a long time and continues to be a fixture in video games as a whole. This year, Mojang Studios brought about Minecraft Legends, “a new action strategy game. Explore a gentle land of rich resources and lush biomes on the brink of destruction. The ravaging piglins have arrived, and it’s up to you to inspire your allies and lead them in strategic battles to save the Overworld!” While Legends is certainly a departure from the Minecraft that we are all used to, this seems like a bit of fresh air to a game that has only been staying alive based on its universal appeal and the insane amount of available mods.
