News Tower Gets Early Access Launch Date

A while ago I wrote a news piece on News Tower, an upcoming newspaper management sim. All has been quiet on the update front for a while, but the silence has come to an end. Now, thanks to an update by developer Sparrow Night and publisher Twin Sails Interactive, we finally have an idea of when News Tower will come to Early Access.

News Tower will be launching on Steam in Early Access on February 13^th, 2024. Sparrow Night (according to the Steam page) plans to keep News Tower in Early Access for a year, possibly longer if necessary. Here is what the press release has to say about News Tower’s Early Access launch.

“Become a press mogul in 1930s New York in pursuit of the truth and profits! Expand your business, recruit new employees, and search for the decade’s most newsworthy stories for the front page. As the publisher of a down-on-its-luck newspaper, your goal is to turn fortune around and build a media empire!

Recruit and manage every profession necessary for success, including reporters, photographers, janitors, ad salespeople[,] and lawyers. Uncover exciting news across the globe, matching your editorial line with readers’ interests, but watch out for powerful factions like the mayor and the mafia trying to peddle influence. Build and optimize your tower to ensure the well-being of your employees and meet your printing deadlines while balancing editorial quality and gaining new customers!”

I’m excited to see what News Tower is like when it enters Early Access. Honestly, I’m excited to see what it is like when it is fully done too. It is so rare to see games in the management genre that take on topics like publishing and newspaper content, much less something from an era like the 1930s. I can’t wait to find out more, but February isn’t that far away.
