New Ark: Survival Ascended Roadmap Unveiled

This week, as part of a special charity fundraising event, Studio Wildcard announced new information regarding upcoming and current games. The latest game in the Ark series, Ark: Survival Ascended is now out on PS5 Xbox series X and PC. The title features cross-platform play and over 350 mods for console players to try out. Additionally, the developers detailed the game’s upcoming DLC expansions for the entire next year.

Each expansion will feature new maps, dinosaur enemies, and seasonal events. Furthermore, in accordance with a new business model, these expansions will be included as free updates and the paid content will be limited to skins, crafting items, and other rewards. Wildcard gave a sneak peek at the first batch of these packages which will include cowboy-themed skins along with an exclusive pet and Wild West-themed trains and wagons. In terms of new Dinosaurs, this next update will feature the mighty Fasolasuchus.

Starting off in March of 2024 will be the “Scorched Earth” map followed by “The Center” in May. Next comes “Aberration,” “Ragnarok,” and “Extinction” expansions in July, September, and October respectively. Rounding out the year comes the “Valguero“ expansion while 2025 will begin with the release of “Genesis: Part 1“ in February. “Genesis: Part 2“ will then be released in May 2025 and will be preceded by “Crystal Isles“ in April. Finally, players can expect “Lost Island“ in August, followed by “Fjordur“ in October.

In other news, Studio Wildcard announced a December 20th launch date for the upcoming Battle Royale game mode Ark: Survival of the Fittest. Crossplay is also confirmed for this mode. Meanwhile, the latest seasonal event titled Winter Wonderland was also previewed. This event will feature an exclusive Krampus-themed skin for players to torment one another with this holiday season.
